In 2019 she rounded out her knowledge with a Master’s degree from TUM. Since she began her studies at TUM, Eleonore has been conducting research on a highly innovative recycling system. In 2019 this led to the spin-off beworm, which is developing a biotic/biocatalytic recycling process to break down oil-based plastics such as PE (polyethylene). PE is the world’s most commonly used plastic material, which is used in many everyday goods. However, in contrast to the more familiar PET (polyethylene terephthalate), the other main chemical component for consumer goods, it is to date hardly ever being recycled. In addition to beworm, only a handful of other companies worldwide are working on this important task for the future. Eleonore is hoping for a revolution in recycling and she encourages each and every one of us to join: on her homepage beworm.org she provides instructions on how to raise waxworms, who will then munch on plastic waste in a small jar in your kitchen at home.

HACK’N’TALK is a monthly community event created for entrepreneurs, innovators, and hackers to meet, exchange, and create. Our hosts are Lisa Schebitz (Project Leader) and Anna-Theresa Schmalholz (Event- and Community Manager) at UnternehmerTUM.

Are you a builder or a consumer? A simple question that had a major impact on the life of Dr. Tina Ruseva. In her journey as an entrepreneur, she has built everything from games and graphics to a career and a family. Now she shares her unique perspective on the question, the dangers of technology, and the importance of having a purpose.

In the digital age, she discusses how we can all be seen as builders in the sense of globally connecting, clicking, liking, and interacting with each other. Each person’s action is contributing and thus the potential for further innovation and a combined effort in solving current world problems are endless. Time has come to take ownership of your role as a builder. Although the technology of the digital age opens a wide range of opportunities, Tina also shares the potential dangers. Lastly, we learn how doing things right doesn’t necessarily mean doing the right things. Tina highlights the importance of purpose-driven entrepreneurship and its potential impacts. The courage lies not in being an entrepreneur, but in maintaining one’s purpose! Tune in and be inspired to take your place as a builder and pursue your entrepreneurial visions with a purpose.

Enduring exhaustion and withstanding crises, Markus shares his entrepreneurial lessons on living a life filled with purpose.

In his transition from successful start-up exit into corporate career and back to being an entrepreneur, he talks about how recognition and success can change oneself and highlights the importance of being deeply rooted in your core values, with constant retrospective alignments. Throughout his life, Markus has been driven by goals, jumping from one to the next. But, suddenly, upon quitting his executive career, he realizes he doesn’t have them anymore. In a life-changing conversation with a stranger, Markus learns that sometimes being driven by goals can make you very focused, and however unpleasant, broadening the focus can open up new horizons. He further reveals how his curiosity led him to a book called ‘The Big Five for Life’ and shares his life transformation on how he interconnects his five things to live a purposeful life.

Take a page from Markus’s experience and learn how to rebound with purpose towards your entrepreneurial success.

HACK’N’TALK is a monthly community event created for entrepreneurs, innovators, and hackers to meet, exchange and create, hosted by Lisa Schebitz – Project Leader and Anna-Theresa Schmalholz Event- and Community Manager at UnternehmerTUM.

The team is a crucial success factor for start-ups and at the same time, finding, guiding, and keeping the right talent is one of the toughest challenges entrepreneurs will encounter.

Since only a fraction of start-ups is able to get beyond the launch stage to scale, or last more than four years – and then sustain the innovative edge. Each emerging stage calls for different kinds of skill-sets and roles to cover within the team. Start-ups succeed if their founders can create an authentic and human-centered growth strategy based on a shared vision and values that are driven by a broad-based focus on evolution and adaptation.

Entrepreneurs need to acquire very early on leadership skills to create and motivate highly productive teams for the long term. Self-awareness and self-knowledge are the foundation – communication, networking, and openness for feedback are key to attract and retain talents.

Watch Daniel Schober sharing his expertise at HACK’N’TALK. He really lets the spark skip by asking himself the right questions when it comes to entrepreneurial growth and recruiting goals!

Our CEO, Helmut Schönenberger, got invited to speak with Steffi Czerny and Francesca Bria in a DLD Sync conversation. Drawing from a profound expertise in innovation management, the talk holds insights into the speakers’ own ecosystems. They discuss ideas how the vision of the New European Bauhaus can be a catalyst for a new wave of entrepreneurial innovation across Europe.

In January 2021, the European Commission launched the New European Bauhaus – a creative and interdisciplinary initiative to accelerate the green transformation of our continent. The New European Bauhaus is dedicated to fostering, facilitating and catalyzing innovation at the intersection of art, science and technology. It is a call to action and a collective effort to imagine and build a future that is sustainable, inclusive – and beautiful. Building that future requires a team of architects, makers, operators, and supporters with many different skill sets. Therefore, cultivating entrepreneurial ecosystems that thrive through interdisciplinary collaboration is a core factor in manifesting this ambitious vision into real-world solutions.

There are still few female founders in the tech start-up scene. Why is this the case and what can be done to bring more gender diversity into the start-up scene? In this U Talk you will hear a discussion of female founders and an investor.

Everyone agrees that women have a big potential when it comes to founding a tech start-up. Women bring in very strong communication skills and different solutions to problems. Even investors start to push start-ups to have more female managers in main positions. But as women and men communicate differently, investors have to be open and aware to the differences and re-think the patterns they have for male start-ups.
Women have a higher motivation for business ideas with social impact. As many start-ups have recently shown that social impact does not exclude financial success, there will be more focus on ideas with social impact in the future – a big chance for female founders.
The importance of female networks were discussed and how more women can be encouraged to found a company.
