Markus Blume has been Bavarian State Minister of Science and the Arts since February 2022. In 2026, he also took over the chair of the Conference of Science Ministers. From 2018 to 2022, he was Secretary General of the CSU. Blume has been a member of the Bavarian State Parliament since 2008. He represents the Munich Ramersdorf constituency as a directly elected member. Father of three children, he lives in Munich. Before his career as a politician, Blume was founder and CEO of a SME.
